30,822 CANDIDATES WITH GRADE E IN THE 2022 KCSE EXAM

Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu has released the 2022 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams and noted a marked improvement from last year.

Speaking at Mitihani House in Nairobi on Friday, 20thJanuary 2023 when he released the results, Machogu noted that candidates who are not within close proximity to their respective examination centres can access the results via SMS services.

“Candidates can collect their results from their respective examination centres. Individual candidate results can also be accessed by sending a candidate’s index number followed by the initials KCSE through a short messaging service to 20076,” said Magoha who noted that the results will be available immediately after his address.

According to Machogu, out of the 881,416 candidates who sat the 2022 KCSE exams, 173,345 scored the minimum university entry grade of C+ and above compared to 145,776 in 2021.

He also pointed out that in 2022 a total of 1,146 candidates scored grade A compared to 1,138 in 2021 while 522,588 candidates scored grade D+ and above in the 2022 exams.

The CS also noted that candidates with grade E in the 2022 KCSE exam declined significantly to 30,822 compared to 46,151 in 2021.
