Former Kitui County Chief of Staff and successful businessman Crispus Ileli has urged the Kamba community to reconsider its opposition stance which he said was working to the disadvantage of the community.
Addressing mourners today at Unyaa in Kyangwithya West during the funeral of Charles Kyalo Mbuvi, Mr Ileli made a passionate appeal to the community to abandon any loyalty to the opposition.
Mr Ileli noted that it was disheartening to see the Kamba community sinking deeper into opposition politics yet other communities have resolved to support and work with president William Ruto’s government.
Ileli, who is a social scientist with an enviable experience in social development argued that only collective support for the current administration would lead to progress in Ukambani.
“We keep on grumbling about the Migwani – Mbondoni road, Thwake dam and Konza city while at the gate yet the cake is being shared at the living room and no one of us is there. Yet when we are invited inside, we say No and pretend to be baking our own cake. As a community, we must rethink our political position,” Ileli advised.
In a passionate speech that was warmly received by the mourners, the leader pointed out that the community has endured 15 years of opposition bareness, advising that it is time to ditch the empty opposition camp.
“When you are not on the table where the national cake is being shared, it might mean you are on the menu. Opposition politics is taking us backwards,” he told the gathering.
Mr Ileli at the same time thanked president Ruto for listening to the concern of Kenyans and specifically cancelling the controversial Adani deals.
“The president has heard Kenyans. He has acted as per their wishes and aspirations. Kenyans need to support the president on his commitment to serve and improve their lives,” the former officer who left a stellar performance record in Makueni and Kitui counties, marked by significant growth and social development emphasized.
Further, Ileli appealed to the residents of Ukambani to register for the Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF), now renamed TaifaCare as a sure way of alleviating suffering among patients.
