Mwingi Central politician and activist Kitovoto Mutinda has once again emerged victorious in a legal battle against Mwingi Central MP Hon. Gedion Mulyungi. The court case, which dates back to January 2021, was dismissed after the lawmaker failed to substantiate the criminal charges against the former Waita Ward aspirant.

Kitovoto’s triumph underscores his resolve in challenging powerful forces in the region, even in the face of legal hurdles and intimidation tactics employed by the MP and his allies.

Renowned for his bold stance against corruption and oppression, Kitovoto has vowed to persist in his advocacy despite threats, court cases, and intimidation from Hon. Mulyungi and his cronies.

In his statement, Kitovoto urged the residents of Mwingi Central to rise against what he describes as a form of modern-day tyranny. He likened Mulyungi’s tactics to those of historical despots like Mussolini and Idi Amin, asserting that such oppressive methods have no place in today’s society.

Kitovoto also raised serious concerns over the alleged unfair distribution of bursary funds in Mwingi Central. He highlighted that vulnerable groups such as orphans are often neglected while receiving the same amount of support as children from more privileged backgrounds, like civil servants’ families.

The activist’s remarks expose the systemic inequalities plaguing the bursary allocation process, calling for greater fairness and attention to the needs of the most disadvantaged.

Firm in his resolve, Kitovoto pledged to continue advocating for the rights of the youth, particularly in ensuring that the 1% of NG-CDF funds allocated for sports and youth activities are used as intended. His unwavering commitment to holding leaders accountable and defending the marginalized in Mwingi Central underscores his role as a formidable voice for justice and equity in the region.
