Kitui County Minority Leader and Miambani Ward MCA, Hon. Alex Nganga, has assured his constituents that fairness and transparency will prevail in the approval of nominees to the Kitui Municipal Board, despite the recent revelations of irregularities.
Speaking exclusively to our reporter in response to concerns raised over the nomination process, Nganga emphasized his commitment to ensuring that no prejudice, discrimination, or unfair judgment will be allowed in his home constituency of Kitui Central. He affirmed his stance as a leader who listens to his people, promising that they can count on his support to address their concerns.
Nganga made it clear that all nominees to the Kitui Municipal Board will be approved by the County Assembly, and any discrepancies involving the County Public Service Board (CPSB) or other nominating bodies will be dealt with separately and in accordance with the law.
“All Nominees to the Kitui County Municipal Board will be approved by the County Assembly. Any anomalies by the County Public Service Board or other nominating entities will be dealt with separately and procedurally,” he stated. His commitment aims to reassure the public that the nomination process will be transparent and that any missteps by officials will not hinder the approval of qualified nominees.
The Minority Leader also condemned the actions of public officers whose negligence or overreach have cast a shadow over the nomination process. He emphasized the need to separate the innocent nominees from the mistakes made by those responsible for overseeing the process.
“We cannot punish the innocence of our people due to the ignorance of public officers who are duly charged and responsible by law,” Nganga added. His remarks underscored a call for accountability within the ranks of the County Government, particularly among those who have failed to adhere to proper protocols in managing public appointments.
Hon. Nganga’s statements come amid growing scrutiny over the manner in which the Kitui Municipal Board nominations were handled, with concerns about undue influence and procedural lapses.
As a prominent leader in Kitui Central, Nganga’s assurance that the County Assembly will act with integrity in evaluating the nominees is seen as a crucial step towards restoring public confidence in the nomination process.
His pledge to uphold fairness while addressing any irregularities separately highlights his dedication to maintaining accountability and protecting the rights of Kitui residents.
