Alpha Judo Club Has Won First-Ever Bronze Medal

735

Alpha Judo Club has made history by securing its first-ever bronze medal at the National Judo League competition held in Ruiru on Saturday, 12th July 2025. This marks a significant milestone not only for the club but for the entire Kitui County, as it is the first time the county has been represented on the national judo podium.

At the heart of this success is Prof. Dr. Sheila Kalunga, the visionary behind Alpha Judo Club and the Director of Judo in Schools Kenya (JISK).

The journey to this moment has been fueled by relentless dedication, discipline, and passion. The young judokas from Alpha Judo Club have trained tirelessly, embodying the true spirit of judo—respect, perseverance, and resilience. “This medal is more than just a piece of metal; it’s a symbol of what hard work and belief in young talent can achieve,” said the club’s head coach. The medal stands as a beacon of what is possible when local talent is nurtured and given the platform to grow.

As the celebrations continue, Alpha Judo Club is inviting parents and guardians to join in building the next generation of champions. Enrolment is now open for the August School Holidays Judo Program, a unique opportunity for children to develop confidence, focus, and fitness through the beautiful art of judo. With limited slots available, the club is encouraging early registration.
