On Sunday 17th December 2023, Deputy ambassador to China Lynette Mwende Ndile joined deputy president His Excellency Rigathi Gachagua for a significant fundraiser event at AIC Zombe Township, and equipping the Zombe technical & Vocational College.
Ms Lynette supported the ongoing Kitui County development agenda and represented Hon Esther Kalunda Ndile during the fundraiser event hosted by Kitui East MP, Hon Nimrod Mbai.
Lynette is the Executive Director and Founder of Ujana Afrika, a social policy practitioner with several years of experience in Education sector -TVET Policy and Project Management.
She is a young woman in STEM with an undergraduate degree in aeronautical engineering and flight design from the Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. Her passion in youth empowerment led the to the founding of Ujana Afrika in 2018, a youth-serving organization that champions TVET, lobbying for better policy action and increased funding for youth skills development programs. Her mission is to change the existing negative perception about TVET and blue collar jobs, especially by youth, through advocacy. She is an alumni of NYU’s Robert Wagner Graduate School’s Global Leadership training course.
Lynette is multilingual with fluency in English, Kiswahili and Chinese Mandarin. She lived in Beijing for seven years, which led to extensive knowledge in Sino-Africa relations and learning from the advanced vocational education in China which spurred the country’s economic growth.
