Hon. Peninah Malonza, the Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of EAC, Arid and Semi-Arid Lands, and Regional Development, has voiced reassurance to Kenyans regarding HE. William Ruto’s leadership, highlighting his efforts in steering the country’s economy in the right direction.
Speaking in Kitui town during the installation of philanthropist Dr. Augustus Kyalo Muli as the Anzauni Clan national patron on February 10, Hon. Malonza emphasized the challenges inherited by President Ruto, describing the economy as being in ICU due to mismanagement in the previous regime.
She attributed the high cost of living to overtaxation, corruption, and excessive borrowing by the ‘handshake’ government of former President Uhuru and ODM luminary Raila Odinga.
Despite these challenges, CS Malonza expressed confidence in President Ruto’s competence and experience, stating that he is fully aware of the difficulties faced by ordinary citizens and is diligently working to address them.
“President William Ruto is working hard to turn around the economy. There were teething problems in the beginning of the recovery process, but the President has a good plan, energy and a hardworking team to transform the country. Be patient, pray for him and support him as we walk the journey together,” CS Malonza said.
