More than 880 students have benefitted from the 4th edition of the Hon. Bonnie Musambi Scholarship Program, a life-changing initiative that continues to open doors of opportunity for young people in Kitui County. The scholarship flag-off ceremony was officiated by CS Salim Mvurya at Yumbisye – Wikilililye Market, with the students set to join Kitui East Vocational Training Centre (VTC).

This year’s edition marked a historic milestone as, for the first time, the scholarship program expanded beyond Kitui Central to include beneficiaries from various constituencies across the county. Hundreds of learners from different corners of Kitui are now assured of a chance to pursue vocational training under the program.

“Education is the most powerful tool to change the world, and President William Ruto’s administration is fully committed to supporting Hon. Bonnie Musambi’s scholarship initiative,” said CS Mvurya during the ceremony. He underscored that investing in education, empowering youth, and transforming communities remain central to the President’s development agenda.

The event was charged with celebration and hope, with students delivering vibrant performances and local leaders offering heartfelt blessings for the beneficiaries.

The Hon. Bonnie Musambi Scholarship Program continues to cement its place as a transformative platform for young people, giving them not only education but also a pathway to a brighter future.
