On Monday, 23rd January 2023, over 145 Machakos University Staff who work under Kenya University Staff Union (KUSU) Machakos Branch have gone to the streets in non violent action at Machakos Town over what they termed as the university administration not listening to their grievances.
According to KUSU secretary Sylvanus Mukai Mwanzia the union is blaming the vice chancellor saying efforts to seek dialogue with the administration has been unfruitful.The issues of promotion is among the major concerns raised by KUSU saying that some members have waited for 10 years despite having acquired masters degrees.
“We will never look back until our grievances are heard”, The secretary Added.
