Kitui South Youth leader and founder of the Southern Green League (SGL), Engineer Patrick Kasimu, presented Charlene Ruto, the daughter of President Ruto, with a jersey branded with her name and the SGL logo.
This act symbolizes the collaboration and mutual support between the youth organization and prominent national figures. Charlene Ruto confirmed her attendance at this year’s 10th Mega edition of the football tournament, scheduled for December in Mutomo, Kitui South, which has generated considerable excitement among the local youth.
Engineer Kasimu has been organizing football tournaments during holidays to engage the youth in positive activities. His efforts aim to keep the young population away from drug and substance abuse by providing them with healthy recreational opportunities. These tournaments have become a cornerstone of the community, fostering teamwork, discipline, and a sense of purpose among the participants.
The youth of Kitui South have expressed their appreciation for Charlene Ruto’s commitment to attending the final of the SGL tournament. Her involvement is seen as a significant endorsement and a source of inspiration for the young people in the region.
Charlene Ruto’s upcoming visit to Kitui South follows her recent engagement in the region, where she, along with the Zero Barefoot Campaign team, CEO Victor Kiprono, and the Cabinet Secretary of EAC, ASALs, and Regional Development, Penina Malonza EGH, donated shoes and sanitary pads to pupils and participated in tree planting activities.
Her visit was received with great honor and it served as a powerful encouragement to Kitui’s youth and pupils, inspiring them as they prepare for their futures.
