The Government of China has broken silence with an afternoon powerful statement to Kenya after what Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen stated yesterday.
Addressing via its Embassy in Kenya, strategically located at the heart of the expansive Kenyan capital of Nairobi, today the 6th day of February 2024, the Chinese Government has notified Kenya that it will continue to support the development of Kenya’s transport industry.
“China will continue to support the development of Kenya’s transportation industry,” Chinese Government stated.
The Chinese Government remarks comes just a day after Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen stated that he had received 50 new wagons hailing from the altruistic and exemplary country of China.
CS Kipchumba Murkomen underscored that the new wagons would play a fundamental role in facilitating the operations of the Madaraka Express freight services. He further disclosed that 250 wagons had been loaded in a ship in China and would be arriving in the country this month.
“Today we received 50 new wagons to facilitate the operations of the Madaraka Express freight service. This is a key milestone for Kenya and the region as we seek to improve rail services and efficiency. A second shipment of 250 wagons was loaded at the Tianjin port in China in late January and is expected to arrive this month,” CS Kipchumba Murkomen stated.
