On Tuesday, 25th March 2025, Urban Development Chief Officer Evans Mutua, alongside Kitui Town Municipality Manager Irene and her team, conducted an inspection of the ongoing walkway paving project. The project, which runs from Huduma Center to Kunda Kindu Bus Park, aims to enhance pedestrian movement and improve the town’s infrastructure. During the inspection, the officials assessed the progress of the work and engaged with the contractors to ensure the project meets the required standards.

Later in the day, the team visited the proposed sites for the construction of parking lots with drainage systems. The planned development, stretching from Magunas Supermarket to Univision Sacco, is expected to address parking challenges within Kitui Town. By increasing parking slots, the project will help decongest the town and boost local businesses. Additionally, the incorporation of drainage systems will prevent waterlogging, ensuring the area remains accessible even during heavy rains.

The officials commended the contractor for the quality of work done so far. The successful implementation of these projects is expected to improve urban mobility and generate additional revenue for the municipality. By prioritizing infrastructure development, Kitui Town continues to enhance its urban planning efforts, making it a more organized and business-friendly environment.
