Kitui County’s Chief Officer for Transport and Boda Boda sector, Peter Ketonya and David Muvaluku, commonly known as Katajiri, have resolved their differences and pledged to work together for the betterment of the boda boda sector. This reconciliation marks a significant step toward uniting efforts to improve the welfare of riders across Kitui.
Katajiri, having years of experience as a rider, has been an influential voice advocating for the needs of the community, while CO Ketonya has been instrumental in implementing infrastructure and policies to support the sector.
One of the recent milestones in this collaboration was the launch of a new office in Kitui Township Ward, officiated by CO Ketonya. The facility is designed to serve as a central hub for boda boda riders, providing them with a platform to address challenges, resolve Sacco-related matters, and participate in sports and other community-building activities.
The establishment of this office underscores the county’s commitment to empowering the boda boda community and promoting unity among its members.
In addition to this, CO Ketonya has been at the forefront of constructing boda boda shades across Kitui County. These shades provide a comfortable and organized environment where riders can shelter from harsh weather conditions while waiting for customers. This initiative not only enhances the working conditions for riders but also promotes a more professional image of the boda boda sector in the county.
With Ketonya and Katajiri now working together, the boda boda community can look forward to more coordinated and impactful efforts to address their welfare and operational needs.
