The esteemed CS for EAC,ASALs and Regional Development, Hon. Peninah Malonza (EGH) hosted Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on 17th December 2023 together with faithfuls, attended a church service at A.I.C Zombe in Kitui East Constituency, and thereafter participated in a funds drive to support the church’s development projects.
The purpose of the harambee drive is to raise funds for completion of the AIC church construction, marking a significant moment for the local community of Kitui East.
Speaking during the event, DP Gachagua stressed on the need for water security so as to make the county food secure.
“We have very fertile soils in Kitui, all you need is water,” he reiterated; adding,”In this view, me and HE. William Ruto’s government are going to make sustainable agriculture a reality in Kitui.”
In her statement CS Malonza called all leaders to work in unison so that the great people of Kitui could reap big in the Kenya Kwanza Government.
“As leaders from the Lower Eastern Region, we are working together to deliver sustainable solutions to perennial challenges affecting our community”, CS said.
Present were PS for the State Department for Devolution, Teresiah Mbaika, area MP Nimrod Mbai (Kitui East), MPs Rachael Nyamai (Kitui South), Benjamin Gathiru Mejja Donk (Embakasi Central), Zaheer Jhanda (Nyaribari Chache), Japheth Nyakundi (Kitutu Chache North), Kivai Kagesi (Vihiga), Deputy Ambassador to China Ms Lynette Mwende Ndile and Members of the County Assembly, among other leaders.
