On Saturday, 3rd February, Cabinet Secretary for EAC, ASALs, and Regional Development Hon. Penina Malonza (EGH) condoled with thousands of mourners in Kikimini village, Katulani sub county in Kitui Central.
Speaking during the burial ceremony of the late Nzomo Musyoka, father to David Muvaluku alias Katajiri, who rested on 26th January 2024, with 60 years after battling with lungs cancer for some time, CS Malonza assured locals that the government is committed to ensure quality cancer treatment is available to promote availability and affordability of quality and safe and effective medicines, vaccines and diagnostics for cancer which is essential to achieving sustainable development goals and reduce mortality from cancer.
She also said all efforts geared towards transforming the health system aim at ensuring healthcare services are accessible, available and affordable to Kenyans from all walks of life.
“Together we can promote healthy lifestyles, prevent cancer, put measures in place for early detection, effectively treat and cure cancer, and provide quality life through palliative care,” Malonza reiterated.
