ICT Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo and Tourism CS Penina Malonza has launched Free Public WiFi Hotspots at Mutomo Market in Kitui South Constituency, Kitui County.
According to the CS, the public WiFi spots are part of the Kenya Kwanza government’s digitalization plan, to help the youth engage in e-commerce.
“The public WiFi are part of the Kenya Kwanza Government’s Digitalization Plan, emanating from President William Ruto’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), to enable the youth and market traders at the bottom of the economic pyramid to access the Internet and engage in e-Commerce,” said the CS.
The CS thanked the traders in Mutomo for a warm welcome, adding “We look forward to plentiful of returns for them from the Free Public WiFi Hotspots.”
