ASALs and Regional Development Cabinet Secretary, Hon. Penina Malonza, on Monday 15th April 2024, convened a meeting in her office with a group of content creators from Kitui, Machakos, and Makueni Counties.
During the meeting, Hon. Malonza emphasized the critical role of the digital space in tapping into talents and generating employment opportunities for millions of youth and Kenyans at large.
The content creators present at the meeting included Justina Syokau, Isaac Kisoi (popularly known as Kayeye), Patience Titus, and Digital Consultant Daniel Mutisya.
Hon. Malonza urged the content creators to support the youth, particularly in the Lower Eastern region and beyond, in leveraging the digital economy for job creation, poverty alleviation, and enhancing the social welfare of all Kenyans.
She highlighted the government’s commitment to supporting stakeholders in the digital economy and emphasized President William Ruto’s initiatives to transform the digital space into a high-income sector for Kenyans through the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) blueprint.
In response, the content creators pledged to collaborate with the government to promote youth employment opportunities in the digital creative industry. They also offered to use their social media platforms to champion the government’s development initiatives, especially in the Lower Eastern region of Kenya.
Justina Syokau is a renowned gospel musician, author, and motivational speaker, while Isaac Kisoi (Kayeye) is a popular comedian and event organizer. Patience Titus is a talented dancer.
