Former Cabinet Secretary Peninah Malonza joined thousands of mourners in paying her last respects to the late Lucas Muthoka, widely known as DK Kitengenezi. The emotional burial ceremony, held in Mavui village, Kyome Thaana Ward, brought together family, friends, and community members who gathered to honor a man remembered for his unwavering support and dedication to community development. Kitengenezi was widely recognized as a strong pillar of unity and progress, and his passing left a deep void among those who knew him.

In her tribute, Hon. Malonza described Kitengenezi as a devoted supporter and a key figure in the community. She highlighted his role in championing various development initiatives and fostering a spirit of togetherness. Offering words of comfort to the bereaved family, Malonza encouraged them to take solace in their faith, emphasizing that Kitengenezi’s legacy would endure through the lives he had touched. His commitment to serving others, she noted, was a testament to his character and dedication to a better society.

Kitengenezi, born on November 12, 1986, was a loving husband to Rosalia Makaa and a caring father to Eleanor Mutheu, Abigail Martha, and Lincoln Muthoka. His career journey was marked by hard work and determination, having served in various roles, including as a butcher, cashier, and later as a staff member at Kenya Utalii College. Known for his resilience and strong work ethic, he was praised as a visionary individual who took great pride in his responsibilities and actively contributed to his community. His generosity and kindness made him a beloved figure among family and friends.

The funeral was attended by several dignitaries, including Mwingi West MP Charles Nguna (CNN), Director of the Tourism Fund Patrick Ngere, area MCA Alphonse Mukwaiyu, and Augustus Kyalo Muli.
