The Mover of the impeachment motion for Kitui speaker Hon Kevin Kinengo and also the Members of county assembly from Kivou ward, Hon Sammy Musili Munyithya has written a letter to the Clerk of the Assembly Kitui after being requested to confirm whether signatures attached to the motion of the removal of the speaker of Kitui county assembly are their.In the letter seen by Hopkin Reporter the mover of the Motion wrote that;

REF: LETTERS ASKING HON. MEMBERS TO CONFIRM SIGNATURES

“I refer to the various letters written by your office to members requesting them to confirm whether or not the signatures attached to the motion on the removal of the speaker of Kitui County Assembly are theirs.

I am the mover of the said motion and I would like to firmly and in a matter of fact and on behalf of those who signed confirm that not only the signatures but also the hand writings belong to the respective Honourable members who signed.

I diligently with the help of other Honourable members like of Hon. Mary Mbithe obtained the said signatures from Honourable members and I can confirm that they all willingly signed without any form of Coercion from any person. (this you are at liberty to authenticate with DCI).

That the letters now being circulated to members and requesting them to confirm whether or not the presented signatures are theirs are meant to provoke members as untill the said letters were written, there had not been any member who had come out to contest any of the attached signatures from when the motion was served and made public.

In my view, these letters are a grand scheme by the Speaker to present an opportunity for the members to be intimidated, bullied, coerced and even blackmailed into reneging on their decision to save this County Assembly from the catastrophic lack of leadership that it is currently suffering despite clear procedural requirement and parliamentary practices that signatures tendered in special motions cannot be withdrawn.

We shall on the day on debating the motion present audio evidence showing the Speaker calling members and asking them to just tender letters saying that the signatures are not theirs despite them signing.

The speaker is willfully directing members to provide false information to this house for the sake of saving himself showing a high level of lack of integrity on his part and his malicious intents to land Honourable members into troubles by exposing them to criminal acts.”

THE END///
