The County Government of Kitui on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 embarked on a three-day workshop to train Directors, Deputy and Assistant Directors in the various departments on performance management.
Speaking when he officiated opening of the capacity building exercise, Deputy Governor Augustine Kanani said the training is aimed at installing systematic performance management within the County’s public service to guarantee actualization of Governor Dr. Julius Malombe’s development agenda.
He said the workshop was in line with provisions of the County Government Act 2012, section 47 (1&2) requiring establishment of a performance management plan by the County Executive to evaluate performance of the county public service and implementation of county policies.
Also in attendance was the Chief Officer for Performance Contracting, Disaster and Emergency Services Franciscah Kyui.
The exercise, which is taking place at KEFRI in Kitui Town, was preceded by that of CECMs and COs which Governor Dr. Malombe commissioned on Monday.
