Kitui west Young educationist and patron of Vincent Munyoki foundation, Dr Vincent Munyoki has condemned the recent surge in femicide case as well as the blaming of the women who have been killed.
Addressing Kitui media team on Tuesday 24th January, at Kitui town said he is deeply concerned by the increasing instances of Violence Against Women (VAW) and Girls particularly the recent gruesome murder of Rita Waeni Muendo and Starlet Wahu Mwangi.
“The loss of life of these young women counts not only to statistics but also sets a worrying trend and uncertainty for the safety of women and girls in Kenya in general,” Dr Munyoki said.
This comes a day after police yesterday arrested two Nigerians nationality ,who are held for interrogation to ascertain their involvement in Groosome murder of varsity student, Rita Waeni Muendo.
The most recent is the case of Rita Waeni Muendo, a 20-year-old university student whose dismembered body was discovered at a residential apartment in Nairobi’s Roysambu area on Sunday after she reported going to meet a friend.
Another recent case where popular socialite Starlet Wahu was on January 4 found murdered at a residential apartment in Nairobi’s South B area after checking in, in the company of a man since identified as John Matara.
