A form four student from Kithoni Secondary school in Kivaa, Masinga sub county in Machakos county is in police custody after an infanticide incident.
According to a police report, the 17 year old delivered her baby boy from Alpha Medical Center in Kaewa.
The report further indicates that after the nurse who was attending to her shifted her attention to other patients following her stability, the girl escaped and jumped over the fence together with her baby.
The nurse informed relevant authorities and thirty minutes later following a thorough search in a nearby bush, she was found but had already killed the baby.
The report says she used her school tie to kill the infant.
