Former Cabinet Secretary Penina Malonza has extended her best wishes to the 965,000 students preparing to sit for their 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams. In a heartfelt message, she praised the candidates for their dedication and hard work, urging them to remain confident as they approach this significant phase in their academic journey. “I wish you the very best on your exams! May your hard work and preparation lead you to success. All the best!” she said, expressing her optimism for the students’ future.

The 2024 KCSE exams are scheduled to begin on Monday, October 28, 2024, a critical moment for the students who have spent the past four years preparing for this milestone. This year also marks the inaugural Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA), the first national exam under the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) reforms. “This is a historic year for our education system with the introduction of KPSEA, a new chapter in assessing and shaping the future of our learners,” Malonza noted. She emphasized that both sets of candidates—those sitting for KCSE and KPSEA—are stepping into a new and promising era for the country’s education system.

Across the nation, schools, teachers, and parents have been working tirelessly to support the candidates as they prepare for the exams. The Ministry of Education, alongside education stakeholders, has taken steps to ensure that both the KCSE and KPSEA exams run smoothly.

Malonza’s message resonates with the values of hard work and perseverance, which are central to achieving academic success. She emphasized the significance of these milestones, reminding candidates that their preparation will shape their futures. Her encouraging words provide motivation for students to face the challenges ahead with confidence, as they prepare to sit for their exams and make the most of this pivotal moment in their academic journey.
