Newly appointed Kitui County Government officers; CECMs and COs have started their induction programme at the Kenya School of Government in Nairobi, today.
Governor Dr. Julius Malombe, EGH, delivered a key note address to the new officers and urged them to prioritize efficient service delivery to the county residents.
In his address, the Governor emphasized on the delivery of Kitui promise & Transformation Agenda which is geared towards development that empowers the people, transforms and improves their standards of living and livelihoods.
The governor reminded the new officers that the realization of Kitui Promise squarely lies on their shoulders.He said the Promise is based on transformative, inclusive, equitable, consultative and participatory leadership.
Dr. Malombe noted that his administration is committed to ensuring a prosperous county with vibrant rural and urban economies where people enjoy high quality of life.”The people expect nothing but efficient service delivery. We must not let them down,” the Governor told his team that will help him in re-routing the battered county on the path of development and growth.
The county boss told his officers to *take the induction programme seriously, saying it will arm them with knowledge and skills that will guide them in realizing the 16 sector priorities.
The priorities which are meant to spur development, growth and improve the quality of life have been identified in the sectors of Agriculture, Water provision, Health programmes, Urban development, Roads & Construction, Trade & Investments.Others are in Micro, small & medium enterprises, Hospitality & Tourism and Education.
