GOVERNOR MALOMBE AND WATER PS DR KIPRONOH RONOH VISITED ISOLATED & STALLED UMAA DAM TODAY

Kitui Governor Dr Julius Malombe (EGH) has commended the national government for the plans to reduce water shortage in the county as revealed during Water and Irrigation PS Dr Kipronoh Ronoh’s tour of Kitui today.

In the Friday’s tour where several projects among them Umaa dam, Kitui Sewerage, Kwa Ngindu Masinga water point, Kamuw’ongo project among others were visited, the PS said the county will benefit from the countrywide “100 dams plan” by the President Ruto led administration.

Under the program, Thwake and Umaa dams, Kitimui water project, Kiambere Mwingi water project and Kindaruma-Kiomo-Mwingi pipeline from the Kiambere will be priority project to curb water shortage in the county.

Today’s visit comes after the President’s visit of Syokimau recently where Governor Malombe sought President’s intervention in expanding the Masinga dam water intake at the dam to increase water supply to Kitui and Machakos counties.
