Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe has today come out clean on the Mwingi Level 4 hospital transfers.

Speaking today during the contract signing of the four COs whose appointment had been delayed by a court suit filled by some former governor Ngilu’s chief officers, Malombe warned politicians trying to disrupt normal operations in the second-largest county hospital that they shall be met with the full force of the law.

He condemned in strong terms the assault of one medic who was recently transfered to the facility, Dr. Vundi, on Sunday; stating that the law will not spare the culprits.

The transfers have been done across the county, and Mwingi Level 4 hospital is not a special case,” He mused. ”Handing over has already been done and that is behind us,” Added Dr. Malombe.

Responding to utterances by the Mwingi Central MP Hon. Mulyungi about two senior medics, Governor Malombe trashed the rumours from the member of parliament as malicious and aimed at character assasination of otherwise respectable medics.

“I have recieved a report from the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ Board about the two mentioned medics, and I can state with authority that there is nowhere any of them has ever been involved in cases of professional negligence as alleged by hon. Mulyungi,” Dr. Malombe said in their defence.

The controversial Mwingi Central member of national assembly had in numerous occasions alleged that the two senior administrators, Dr. Vundi and Dr. Hellen; have in the past been responsible for post-natal deaths in their lines of work.

Hon. Gideon Mulyungi has come out full-blaze to fight against the transfer of Dr. Evans Mumo from being the medical superintendent in the facility the new position of the Subcounty Health Services Coordinator.Interestingly, both Dr. Evans Mumo and the MP are neighbours from Kalisasi in Mwingi Central.

Today, irate public, in the company of law enforcement officers, chased away mp Mulyungi and a team of goons from the hospital premises when they tried to disrupt the peace and normal operations in the health facility.
