Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe (EGH) has officially handed over a newly constructed administration block to Matinyani Boys High School, located in Kitui Central Sub-county. The Governor had pledged to deliver the facility during a thanksgiving ceremony held at the school , St. Mathias Mulumba Matinyani on 18th March 2023.
Speaking then, he underscored the critical role of education in shaping responsible citizens who contribute meaningfully to the county’s and the nation’s socio-economic development. The commissioning of the new block on Tuesday, 24th June 2025, marked a personal milestone for Governor Malombe, an alumnus of the institution.
In his remarks during the handover, Dr. Malombe reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to education as a core pillar of development. He stated that the new facility would enhance the school’s administrative efficiency and serve as a nerve center for strategic decision-making and leadership. The Governor lauded the school’s management and teaching staff for their resilience and promised sustained county support toward improving the learning environment for all students.
The Governor was joined by key education stakeholders, including TSC Director Margret Kamau, County Education Director Salim Hassan, CECM for Education Joyce Titus, and Chief Officer for Basic Education Pauline Mwania, among other senior officials. Their presence demonstrated a unified approach between the county government and the education sector in delivering quality infrastructure. School leaders, students, and parents hailed the development as transformative and timely, enhancing the institution’s status as a center of academic excellence in the region.
