Governor Malombe Launches Issuance Of 120M Bursary Cheques To Bright But Needy Students

Kitui Governor Dr Julius Malombe (EGH) has today launched the sh. 120 million Pro Poor Fees Support Cheques’ distribution exercise to support needy learners across the county.

While addressing education stakeholders at the county headquarters today, the Governor said beneficiaries at the University and national tertiary colleges will get sh. 10,000, form ones at the national schools benefiting with sh. 20,000, other boarding secondary school learners will get sh. 10,000, day schools’ learners sh. 5,000, learners in the Vocational centres and county based colleges will get sh. 5,000 and special needs learners benefiting with sh. 10,000 each.

The county chief thanked other stakeholders among them commercial banks, national government bursary, NGOs, CDF and other philanthropists whose invaluable contribution remains significant.

He said his government will deliver services to all the residents of Kitui indiscriminately to improve livelihoods for all.

The governor commended the county assembly for being instrumental in promoting the socio-economic welfareof residents by supporting development initiatives that directly support mwananchi.

The county will distribute cheques worth sh. 86, 400, 000 with each ward benefiting with an allocation of sh. 2, 160, 000.

The remaining amount will be used for infrastructure development.
