Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe has officially launched the Little Angels Newborn Unit at Kitui County Referral Hospital. This milestone project was made possible through a collaborative effort with the Catholic Medical Mission Board (CMMB), an organization dedicated to enhancing healthcare services. The launch marks a significant step forward in the county’s efforts to strengthen neonatal care and reduce infant mortality rates.

The new state-of-the-art facility can accommodate over sixty newborns, significantly expanding the hospital’s previous capacity. This increase is expected to enhance the hospital’s ability to offer critical care to newborns, especially those requiring specialized medical attention. The improved infrastructure ensures that more infants receive timely and quality medical interventions, ultimately improving health outcomes for newborns in Kitui County.

CMMB is committed in improving healthcare infrastructure across Kitui County, demonstrating a strong commitment to maternal and child health. Speaking about the facility’s impact, Governor Malombe highlighted its significance in addressing the growing demand for neonatal care.

“This facility is a game changer for us. It not only increases our capacity to care for more infants but also ensures that they receive the highest standard of care. This partnership with CMMB is a testament to what we can achieve when we work together towards a common goal,” Hopkin Digital reports.

The Kitui County Government remains dedicated to strengthening healthcare services through strategic partnerships with organizations like CMMB. By prioritizing maternal and child health, the county aims to provide better healthcare access and improved medical facilities for its residents.
