After the Senators saved Governor Kawira Mwangaza Impeachment, several high profile leaders from both the ruling Kenya Kwanza Alliance and opposition Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance joined hands to celebrate the win of Meru County Governor Kawira Mwangaza against her impeachment.
Among those who joined her supporters at the parliament buildings in Nairobi is the Cabinet Secretary in charge of the Ministry of Public Service Moses Kuria.
Also in attendance were several Kenya Kwanza Alliance affiliated leaders among them Thika Town constituency Member of Parliament Honourable Alice, Chief Administrative Secretary (suspended) and former nominated senator Millicent Omanga among others.
From the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance was the Suba North constituency Member of Parliament Honourable Millie Odhiambo.
Also in attendance was the Nyeri county governor Mutahi Kahiga who arrived there to give the Meru County Governor support during the difficult time.
A majority of the senators found that she had not committed the crimes that had been presented to the Senate by the Members of the Meru County Assembly.
The Governor who had been impeached by 59 MCAs of the Meru County Assembly was facing 7 accusations including; misappropriation and misuse of county resources, nepotism, bullying and vilification of other leaders, illegal appointments and usurpation of statutory powers, contempt of court, illegally naming a public road after her husband and contempt of the Assembly.
