On Sunday, July 14, 2024, Hon Charity Musyoka, nominated MCA in the Kitui County Assembly to represent persons with disabilities (PWDs), organized a significant event for the benefit of the disabled community.

She facilitated the transportation of 17 PWDs from various regions of Kitui, including Mwingi Central, Kitui South, Kitui East, Kitui Central, and rural areas, to Narayan Seva Sansthan in Westlands, Nairobi. The purpose of this journey was to participate in the Narayan limbs fitment and measurement camp, a critical step in providing these individuals with essential assistive devices.

This initiative aligns with one of Hon Charity Musyoka’s key manifesto pledges during her nomination bid—to ensure PWDs receive the assistive devices they need.

By organizing this event, she has taken a significant step towards fulfilling her commitment to improving the lives of PWDs in Kitui. The fitment and measurement of Narayan limbs will enable the beneficiaries to enhance their mobility and independence, significantly impacting their daily lives.

Accompanying Hon Charity Musyoka on this noble mission was Charles Kyalo Muinde, the chair of Wazalendo CBO, demonstrating a collaborative effort in supporting the disabled community.

The partnership between the county representative and the community-based organization underscores the importance of collective action in addressing the needs of PWDs. Such alliances are vital for mobilizing resources and ensuring sustained support for these initiatives.

Hon Charity Musyoka has called upon other individuals of goodwill, organizations, and stakeholders to join her in her mission to assist PWDs. She emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts to achieve her objectives of empowering PWDs and providing them with necessary assistive devices.

Her appeal highlights the need for broader community involvement to create a more inclusive society where PWDs have equal opportunities and access to the resources they need for a better quality of life.
