Hon. Charity Musyoka, the Nominated MCA for Kitui County Assembly representing persons with disabilities (PWDs), has once again demonstrated her commitment to improving the lives of PWDs. On Sunday, March 23, 2025, she organized an initiative that brought joy to over 12 families with PWD members by facilitating their access to essential assistive devices. This event marks another milestone in her continuous efforts to ensure that PWDs in Kitui receive the support they need to lead more independent lives.
The journey towards this initiative began in July 2024 when the first batch went for registration, followed by an assessment in September 2024. Those who benefited from the program today were part of this batch. With the support of Narayan Seva Sansthan and the Giant’s Group of Nairobi Twiga, Hon. Charity arranged for 12 amputees from various wards in Kitui to travel to SSD Temple Hall in Parklands, Westlands, for the Narayan limbs fitment and measurement camp. Beneficiaries expressed immense gratitude, acknowledging how this initiative has given them hope and a chance for a better future.
Hon. Charity has urged the Kitui County government to take a more active role in supporting amputees by facilitating their travel for fittings and ensuring they receive the necessary support. Additionally, she expressed her appreciation to Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe for his efforts in training boda boda riders on road safety, noting that many of the beneficiaries had lost their limbs due to road accidents.
This initiative aligns with Hon. Charity Musyoka’s manifesto pledge to advocate for the welfare of PWDs and ensure they receive essential aids. By championing this cause, she continues to make a significant impact on the lives of disabled individuals in Kitui county.
