The Kitui County Legislator from Nguni ward Hon. Jeremiah Mutua will run his 2nd Edition Jeremiah Cup involving football and volleyball ( both Men and Women) in his Nguni ward from 26th April to 5th May , 2023.
The MCA’s scouting team will select best players to form a 20 player Team to play in the Nguna cup and county League this year .
Jeremiah plans to expose Nguni soccer and volleyball talents to the sporting world in his 5 year term .
REGISTRATION FEE
The teams that wish to participate are required to pay a non- refundable registration fee of Ksh 1500 not later than 24th April 2023. paving way for a meeting to be held on 25th April 2023.
According to the deputy minority leader , football will keep players physically fit and prevent them from falling into the trap of radicalisers.
“I came up with this initiative, especially football and volleyball, as a tool to prevent crime and drug use among children and teenage youth in Nguni ward during this holiday season”. Apart from education, he also view football as a career opportunity, hopeful that one day they will be scouted for better and bigger opportunities.
Quarter , Semi and Finals shall be done at Nzouni and Muthuka playing grounds .
Speaking exclusively with Hopkin Reporter, the honorable member has revealed that the chief guest will be Mwingi Central Lawmaker Hon Gedion Mulyungi and the county executive member incharge of Youth, gender and sports Phoebe Mutemi ndunyu will grace finals that are scheduled on 5th May (Tano Tano) 2023.
It will be one of the biggest football adventures to have ever happened in the ward set up.
ELIGIBILITY TO PLAY
1.The age limit is 35 years & below
2. Players should be residents of Nguni either by birth or virtue of being employed in Nguni(in the event of civil servants (Relevant docs will be needed)
