The super Ikanga Kyatune Member of kitui County Assembly Hon. Cyrus Musyoka SONKO on friday led an exercise to inspect the ongoing Syomisyi-mesilya-enzou-ngunini-kisayani water project funded by Catholic Medical Mission Board (CMMB).
The water project is 70% complete and will be commissioned in duration of One month.The project is set to supply piped water from Syomisyi, Ithumula sub-location, to other parts.
The project which will be done in two phases, will see water challenges countered permanently in Syomisyi, Nguuni, Semea, Mesilya, Enzou, Yathi, Ngwani, Ngunini and other parts.
The ward boss assured women, who majorly trip rivers in search of water, of closing the debate on endless water search, a cumbersome activity majorly burdened on women.
“Our women are mostly tasked with the responsibility of walking long distances with donkeys in search of water, and In my five year team, I will shorten this distance from over six, eight hours to at least one hour of a return trip.”
