Katee Foundation, under the patronage of Hon. Hillary Katee Wa Ndana, is set to launch a symbolic itinerary focusing on environmental conservation and climate change mitigation. The event, scheduled for Saturday, 12th April 2025, aims to raise awareness and encourage tree planting as a way of preserving the environment. Through this initiative, the foundation seeks to emphasize the importance of protecting natural resources and tackling climate-related challenges facing the region.
In collaboration with LARGER THAN LIFE CONCEPTS, Katee Foundation has successfully partnered with 27 schools within Kitui County to drive this noble cause. The partnership enabled the planting of over 4,000 trees in various schools before the schools closed for the holiday. This effort not only created greener learning environments but also empowered students with knowledge on the significance of environmental conservation and their role in combating climate change.
The tree-planting initiative by Katee Foundation complements President William Ruto’s nationwide campaign aimed at increasing tree cover and addressing the adverse effects of climate change in Kenya. By involving the youth and educational institutions, the foundation hopes to nurture a generation that values and protects the environment. The project stands as a testament to the power of collaboration in creating sustainable solutions for future generations.
