Kitui Agriculture and Livestock County Executive Committee Member (CECM) Stephen Mbaya has taken a proactive approach in ensuring the success of the upcoming Kitui Agricultural Show.
Leading the Agricultural Plan Committee, Mbaya conducted an inspection of the show preparations, emphasizing the event’s grandeur by dubbing it the “mother of all shows.” This thorough inspection aims to guarantee a seamless experience for all participants and attendees.
During the inspection, Mbaya unveiled ambitious expectations for the event, projecting an attendance of 150,000 people over the course of three days. He reassured the public of the robust security measures in place to ensure the safety of everyone involved. This large-scale event is poised to be a significant occasion for the community, reflecting both the importance of agriculture in the region and the county’s dedication to promoting it.
Mbaya also used this platform to urge the youth of Kitui to attend the show in masses to tap into new farming technologies that will be showcased. He highlighted the need for digitization and automation in agriculture to boost productivity and efficiency. Chief Officer of Agriculture Gladys Mami in her statement urged Kitui’s farmers, with a particular focus on women and youth, to attend the show. Scheduled to kick off on July 25th, the event will culminate on July 27th with Governor Malombe as the chief guest.
