The County Assembly of Kitui’s Appointments Committee, under the leadership of Speaker Hon. Kevin Kinengo Katisya, has conducted vetting sessions for nominees proposed to serve on a selection panel.
This panel will be tasked with identifying and recommending suitable candidates for critical county positions, including the County Secretary, County Attorney, and Secretary to the County Public Service Board. The vetting process, an essential step in ensuring the panel’s competency and impartiality, reflects the Assembly’s commitment to upholding transparency and accountability in public appointments.
The nominees vetted for the selection panel represent diverse professional backgrounds and regions across Kitui County. Dr. Nzomo Mwita (Kitui East), Eng. Stephen Nguli (Mwingi West), CPA Jacinta Mwendwa (Kitui West), Joseph Munyasya (Mwingi North), and Amb. Dr. Koki Muli (Kitui Central) bring a wealth of expertise and experience to the table.
Their inclusion ensures balanced regional representation and a broad range of technical and professional insights, which will be vital in selecting competent individuals to serve in the aforementioned key positions.
Following the vetting process, the Appointments Committee has retreated to deliberate on the nominees and prepare its report. The findings and recommendations will soon be tabled before the County Assembly for consideration.
This marks a crucial phase in strengthening Kitui County’s governance structure, as the appointed officials will play a significant role in driving effective service delivery and advancing the county’s development agenda.
