Members of the Kitui County Assembly has unanimously approved the county’s budget estimates for the fiscal year 2024/25 on Wednesday, June 19, 2024. The approved budget, totaling Kshs. 12,956,277,438, is designed to address key community needs, with substantial allocations to health, education, and infrastructure.
During the session, Hon. Zacchaeus Syengo, Chairperson of the Budget and Appropriations Committee, highlighted the funding sources, including equitable shares and grants.
The health sector received the highest allocation of Kshs. 3.85 billion, emphasizing the county’s commitment to healthcare. The budget also includes increased funding for road projects and the Community Level Infrastructure Development Program.
Speaker Hon. Kevin Kinengo Katisya commended the Assembly’s dedication, ensuring the budget’s implementation for the benefit of Kitui residents.
