Kitui County has made remarkable progress in infrastructure development and transport management under the visionary leadership of Governor Dr. Julius Malombe, Roads, Public Works, and Transport CECM Eng. Reuben Itiko has said.
Speaking at the Roads Ministry headquarters after receiving a newly acquired grader, Eng. Itiko highlighted the county’s unwavering commitment to improving its road network and transport sector, a key pillar of _”The Kitui Promise”_ development agenda.
“The county administration has been working tirelessly to ensure residents benefit from a well-maintained and efficient road network,” he stated. “This latest addition strengthens our capacity to deliver on that promise.”
With the acquisition, the county government now boasts *seven (7) operational graders*, a milestone that will enhance road maintenance and accessibility across Kitui.
Chief Officer for Transport and Boda Boda, Peter Ketonya Musya, underscored the grader’s importance in scaling up the countywide road grading program. “This machine will greatly improve our ability to maintain and expand road infrastructure, ensuring smoother and safer transportation for our people,” he said.
