Kitui Central Lawmaker, Hon. Makali Mulu, hosted the launch celebration of the Day of the African Child at Ithookwe Primary School in Kyangwithya West, Kitui Central. During the event, Hon. Makali passionately called on all stakeholders to protect and uphold the rights of children, emphasizing the role of enforcement agencies in ensuring these rights are respected.
He assured the young attendees that their leaders, in collaboration with teachers, are dedicated to their welfare and development.
In his address, Hon. Makali highlighted the theme of this year’s celebration, “Education for All Children in Africa: The Time is Now,” underscoring the urgency of immediate action in educational reforms.
He urged stakeholders to ensure that children’s rights are protected and called on enforcement agencies to uphold these rights. He emphasized the importance of education in eradicating poverty and advocated for increased access to education for all children.
The lawmaker also urged the government to prioritize education by employing more teachers and implementing promotions based on experience and service.
His call to action highlighted the necessity of investing in education to ensure that every child has the opportunity to learn and grow. He stressed that education is the key to lifting communities out of poverty and driving sustainable development.
