0n Tuesday 27th June, 2023, Members of the County Assembly led by the Assembly Committee on Finance and Economic Planning pitched tent at Mwingi Resource Centre and Kyuso Market Shed to collect views from the public on the Kitui County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP III) 2023-2027.
At Mwingi Resource Centre, Hon. Sammy Munyithya (Kivou) who chaired the forum reminded members of the public that they have an opportunity to propose projects they wish to be undertaken in their respective wards in the next five years.
“It is the core five-year development plan that integrates the long-term spatial, sector and urban plans with inputs from the governor Malombe’s manifesto, national government plans and programs, past county development performance and the views and expectations of other development actors and the public at large. The CIDP sets the priorities and guides all county government spending until the next elections,” Hon Munyithya added.
On his part, Hon. Joseph Ngwele (Ngomeni) who led a section of Members of the County Assembly at a similar event held at Kyuso market lauded members of the public for turning up for the exercise.
He further disclosed that CIDP is a super planning document for the county that gives an overall framework for development over a five-year period.
