Kitui County MCAs Back To Work After Two Months of Recess

Kitui County Assembly will resume to the floor of the house tomorrow Tuesday 28th February after Two Months One week recess.

The Assembly adjourned its sittings on Wednesday, 21st December, 2022 to allow Members of the County Assembly proceed for the December recess.

During recess the assembly had several special sittings. The Speaker of the County Assembly Hon. Kevin Kinengo Katisya gazetted Monday 16th January, 2023 as a FIRST day for special sitting of the County Assembly, whereby the business transacted as follows ;

(a) Administration of Oath of office to Kyoome/Thaana MCA Alphonse Mukwaiyu Musyimi.

(b) Committal of nominee of the office of CECM for Education and Skills Development.

(c) Committal of the nominees to the office of Chief Officers.

The County Assembly conducted the SECOND special sitting for the Approval hearings (vetting) of the nominee(s) for appointment as County Executive Committee Member and County Chief Officers from 30th – 31st January, 2023.

Speaker Kinengo Katisya gazetted THIRD and last special sittings on Monday 6th and Tuesday 7th February, 2023 for the House to consider the following business;

(a) Consideration of the report by Committee on Finance and Economic Planning on the ADP for FY 2023/2024 .

(b) Consideration of second report by Select Committee on Appointments on the vetting of the CECM nominee on Education.

(c) Consideration of reports by various Sectoral Committees on the vetting of chief officer’s nominees.

The MCAs On 8th February 2024 witnessed the 10 County Executive Committee Members and 22 County Chief Officers to different county ministries and departments being sworn-in and signed leadership and integrity code respectively, in a ceremony that took place at the Governor’s office.
