Kitui Governor Dr Julius Malombe (EGH) on Monday, 23rd January 2023, joined colleague governors of the Lands, Housing and Urban Development Committee for a Consultative meeting in Mombasa organized by the Council of Governors. Malombe was the moderator during the brief on:
1: The Overview of the Kenya Urban Support Program (including successes, challenges and proposed solutions)
2: Devolution and Urban Support Program.
3: Kenya Integrated proposed grant structure (KIDUSP) including the National Level Activities under the Proposed KIDUSP.
4: County Level Activities under the Proposed KIDUSP and the Proposed County performance framework for KIDUSP.
The meeting comprehensively discussed about the state of lands and housing in counties across Kenya.Cognizant to the extent of the urban challenges and in recognition of the importance of strategic partnerships with competent agencies and authorities, the committee is keen to harness the knowledge and best practices that exist in the urban development sphere to inspire an era of urban regeneration.
Lands CS Zacharia Njeru and Principal Secretary Nixon Korir graced the consultations.
