Kitui journalists and radio fans displayed remarkable solidarity this afternoon when County FM presenter Gerald Mutisya, known as Gera The Selekta, was arrested.
The popular afternoon drive show host was apprehended by Kitui police after they stormed his residence in the Savaani area. News of his arrest quickly spread, prompting a large number of journalists and fans to gather at Kitui Central Police Station, demonstrating their unwavering support for Gera.
Gera had alerted his followers about the incident through his official Facebook account, where he described how police forcefully entered his apartment and disrupted him in his bedroom.
He expressed concerns for his safety and urged anyone in Kitui to come to the police station. The community responded immediately, with journalists and fans arriving in large numbers to show their solidarity and offer support.
This outpouring of support continued until the case was resolved. The Officer Commanding Station (OCS) treated the matter with gravity, arranging a closed-door meeting between Gera and the woman who had filed an assault complaint against him. The issue was deemed minor, and both parties agreed to resolve their differences amicably.
