Sexual and gender-based violence has been a critical issue in the country in recent times, owing to a rise in mental health issues such as depression.
The rescue Centre that will not only provide counseling, therapy and treatment but also maintain and improve the health and wellbeing for a long term to people that experience sexual assault, domestic violence, drugs and alcohol abuse and also including people living with AIDS and HIV.
“Article 53 (1) of the Constitution dictates that every child has a right to be protected from abuse, neglect, harmful cultural practices, all forms of violence, inhumane treatment and punishment, among others.”
