Kitui South New Dawn as Safaricom Foundation Pumps 17M in Healthcare Equipments

The Safaricom Foundation donated a high-level Anaesthesia Machine worth 3.1 million Kenyan Shillings to the Ikutha Level Four Hospital in Kitui South countituency on Tuesday, March 5, 2024.

Mr. Nicholas Mulila, the Chief of Corporate Security Officer at Safaricom, led the foundation officials in a heartfelt handing-over ceremony, attended by local leaders such as Ikutha MCA Hon. Hussein Mwandia and Kanziku MCA Hon. Boniface Kimuli acknowledged the Safaricom’s remarkable generosity within Kitui County.

The County Director of Health Services, Mr. Francis Musyoka, and other county government officials also highlighted the collaborative effort between the Safaricom Foundation and the Kitui County government, emphasizing the positive impact on healthcare.

In his address, Kanziku MCA Boniface Kimuli, also serving as the County Assembly Vice Chairperson for Health and Sanitation, expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Safaricom Foundation for their unwavering support. He recognized the profound impact their ongoing generosity had on uplifting the healthcare landscape, transforming the lives of countless individuals in need.

During the ceremony, Mr. Husein Mwandia, the area MCA, expressed heartfelt gratitude towards Safaricom, acknowledging their benevolence and urging them to further enhance network connectivity in the region, recognizing its vital role in improving communication and access to resources.

Addressing the gathering at Mutomo Mission Hospital, Mr. Mulila, on behalf of the Safaricom Foundation, announced an additional donation of 14 million Kenyan Shillings dedicated to supporting the hospital’s infrastructural development.

This generous contribution further cements the Safaricom Foundation’s unwavering commitment to advancing healthcare in the region, ensuring that vital facilities have the resources they need to thrive and serve their communities effectively.
