The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) team in Kitui has warmly welcomed President William Ruto as the county prepares to host the first-ever National Celebration Day during Madaraka Day. This declaration was made during the Kithumulani Declaration One, where party members and leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening UDA’s presence in Kitui. The leaders expressed excitement over the upcoming national event, seeing it as a significant milestone for the county and a testament to its growing political influence.

During the gathering, the team urged leaders appointed by the President from Kitui County to work in unison for the betterment of the region. They emphasized the importance of collaboration in ensuring development projects reach the grassroots. Additionally, they pleaded with President Ruto to reinstate former Cabinet Secretary Peninah Malonza or appoint another leader from Kitui to the cabinet, arguing that the county deserves stronger representation in the national government. They also reaffirmed their loyalty to the UDA party, vowing to support the President’s agenda.

The Kitui UDA team further called on government-appointed leaders to regularly visit the county to communicate the administration’s agenda and listen to the concerns of local residents. They thanked President Ruto for the ongoing government projects in the region, including the construction of Umaa Dam, Thwake Dam, and the Grand Falls project in Mwingi. These developments, they said, are crucial for boosting water supply, irrigation, and economic growth in Kitui.
