Madam Ruth Koki Mwanzia has taken over the leadership of the Kitui County ministry of Health and Sanitation as the County Executive Committee Member (CECM).
Addressing members of Kitui County Health Management Team (CHMT) during the handing-over ceremony held today at CHMT offices, Koki committed that her leadership will strive to deliver better healthcare services to Kitui people across the county.
“ I commit to demonstrate leadership so as to deliver better healthcare services to Kitui people. And I want to urge you, let’s all maintain integrity in whatever we do. The resources we have been given to facilitate us to deliver these service to Kitui people, we hold it entrust for the Kitui people. We are just stewards,” Koki said.
Koki further emphasized that, the wellbeing of Kitui residents is paramount and sits well in her heart.“ We are here to change the lives of our people. The people of Kitui sit well in my heart. Whatever we will be doing, let it reach Kitui people and change their lives. The small we do, let it make them happy,” Koki reiterated.
The ministry’s boss underscored the challenges in the ministry but urged the healthcare providers to embrace teamwork for a seamless service delivery to Kitui people across the county.
During the ceremony, the Executive committee introduced Chief Officers who will spearhead the various departments in the ministry. Dr Musyoka Benson Wambua Medical Services, Lynn Kitwan Public Health and Sanitation and Aggrey Kanyalili Kamba Drugs and Medical Supplies.On her part, the outgoing Executive Committee Dr Winnie Kitetu applauded Kitui Governor Dr Julius Makau Malombe for giving them an opportunity to serve the county under his leadership for the last six months. She said governor Malombe has been a teacher, advisor, and also a mentor during their interaction.
