As Kenya continues to climb the numbers towards her ambition to plant 15 billion trees by the year 2032.
Kamba visionaries Association (KVA) in collaboration with Mwingi West Lawmaker Hon Charles Nguna has planted over 4500 trees today at Kiio location, Kiomo Kyethani ward in Mwingi West.
Itiliku Primary School hosted the launch led by its chairman Katee Wa Ndana, the day acted as a curtain raiser to the national tree growing intiative announced by the CS for interior and which is spearheaded by president William Ruto on Monday 13th November 2023.
According to Katee Wa Ndana,trees play a key role in restoring biodiversity, improving air quality and addressing climate change impacts such as drought and flooding.
KVA has been at the forefront matters environmental, trade, education and sports activities.
In his statement Hon CNN unveiled his plans to plant over 3 million trees by 2027.
He urged his residents to take advantage of the ongoing rainy season to plant trees in a bid to address climate change.
