Kyalo Muli Issues a Call for Change in Ukambani Politics

Leader of the National Liberal Party (NLP) and patron of the Anzauni clan, has issued a strong call for a shift in Ukambani politics.

In a statement seen by Hopkin Digital Media, Kyalo Muli emphasized that the Kamba community, despite being the fifth largest in Kenya with over four million people, has been sidelined in government representation and development. He argued that the time had come for the community to break away from political stagnation and demand its rightful place in national leadership.

Kyalo Muli criticized the long-standing trend of voting for leaders who claim to represent the community but ultimately serve their own interests. He pointed out that, unlike the Luo community who have successfully negotiated for government benefits despite being in opposition, the Kambas have remained politically marginalized. “For years, we have been told to stay loyal while our people remain in poverty, but this must end,” he stated.

Highlighting Ukambani’s untapped resources, including fertile lands and rivers, Kyalo Muli stressed that the region had the potential to thrive if the right leadership was in place. He called for the Kamba community to push for fair representation in government, including key positions such as Cabinet Secretaries and Principal Secretaries. “We are taxpayers, we are citizens, and we deserve our rightful share of government resources,” he declared.

Muli positioned the National Liberal Party (NLP) as the vehicle for this change, promising a new political direction based on inclusivity and economic empowerment. He rejected the notion that the Kamba people must remain in opposition, arguing that they must engage with the government directly to secure meaningful development. “We must reject leaders who benefit while the people suffer,” he stated.

Calling on the youth to take an active role in reshaping Ukambani’s future, Muli urged them to register as voters and support leaders who prioritize real progress. “The time for blind loyalty is over,” he said. “We must stand together and demand what rightfully belongs to us.”

With this bold declaration, Kyalo Muli ignited a new political conversation in Ukambani. His call for “Maendeleo kwa Wote” (development for all) signaled the beginning of a movement aimed at redefining the region’s political future and ensuring that the Kamba community gets its fair share in Kenya’s leadership.
